We had a great time today at Callum's 2nd Birthday Party!
Bekah thoroughly enjoyed playing pass the parcel (and winning) and of course stamping her authority on the toys she was playing with! It was a really lovely party and lots of thanks go to Jo for her amazing organisation!

Sadly I don't have any pics as I didn't take the camera :(

I like the little plaque, on a fountain presumably donated by local churches. Something both subtle AND positive from Christians for a change!

Here's a new Flickr set of pretty flowers we've taken from all over the place - esp cragside and for Isla of Mann.

I don't find Flikr particularly easy to use, but I can't think of another way to upload sets of pictures rather than just one or two.

Any ideas?

Bye Anne and Tim

Anne and Tim came over tonight for yummy fajitas and nachos, before running off to Uni this weekend.

I'm sure it's quite scarey/exciting for them, but they go with our best wishes and prayers.

It was really good though to talk to them properly - usually at YF or bible studies there are so many people to talk to conversations often feel quite superficial. You don't past the 'hi, how are you?' questions (for all the youth workers out there - Contemplative Youth Ministry explains how bad it is to never have the time to really listen to young people. We should invite small groups of YF over more often).

We look forward to exciting university stories about what's going on with them in due course.

Maybe not great for creating a sense of unity among Christians but very good at trying to banish of outdated stereotypes! Thanks to uncontainable generation for introducing me to these.

Ohhh - And here are some recent pictures of Rebekah with her cousins (well, my cousin's kids - I'm not really sure what that makes them to Rebekah. Legally marriable, probably.), her looking particularly attractive after we put gin in her spag-bol, and a pic to prove she can walk from Cragside (we have lots of pictures from our trip there. Jeni tried to put them on the computer but she didn't follow the system, so they're back on the camera waiting for me to be motivated enough to take them off. Imagine not following the system!?!)

Ohhh - one last thing. Tomoz we find out if our new baby's a little boy or girl or undecided!

Yesterday Pete and the young people who went to Moldova in the summer held an evening to thank the people who had supported them and to tell everyone what they had done and learned whilst they were out there.

One of the aspects of the evening was "traditional" Moldovan food as experienced by the team whilst they were out there.

At some point in the preparation for the evening I offered to cook stuffed peppers for the people who would be there - hmmmmm, not one of my brainiest ideas - I spent 8 hours yesterday in front of an oven or hollowing out peppers (though I had help for that bit from the lovely Anne, Mary, Eve and Nina) but I am completely shattered now - and have no deire to cook ever again...until dinner tomorrow at least!

I just wish that there was a washing up fairy that would come and visit for the afternoon so I could sleep! Perhaps if I ask nicely for Christmas!

It was a great evening though - it was wonderful to see all the things that the team had done and learn more about what they expereienced and have brought back with them from the fortnight. What's really encouraging is that a couple of them want to go back next year for a longer time, which is really exciting!

So WELL DONE GUYS!!!
